How Many People Does the Highland Spirit Accommodate?

The Highland Spirit has ample space for up to 48 people for our social and corporate charters.  Our vessel has a large back deck with seating and shade, an air-conditioned wheelhouse, and a swimming platform. We do not take more than 15 people on board for our Perth fishing charters.

Where Can I Go Onboard the Highland Spirit?

You can cruise the Perth River, visit Rottnest Island or Carnac Island, or venture further afield to the Abrolhos Islands. 

How Long Can We Charter the Highland Spirit For?
  • A Perth River cruise is normally four hours, but we can offer longer cruises to accommodate your needs.
  • Rottnest Island is a day trip and takes a minimum of six hours. 
  • Our trip to Carnac Island takes a minimum of five hours.
  • Our fishing trips are half or full days.
  • A fishing trip to the Abrolhos Islands from Geraldton is three, four, or five days long. 
Who will be onboard during my trip?

Apart from you, your friends, family or guests, there will be our skipper as well as our deckhand. Both men are experienced, qualified and knowledgeable fishermen and are committed to making your trip a safe and enjoyable one.

What about food and drink?
The standard cost of the charter includes the hire of the boat and the provision of the two crew.  We are able to offer a range of catering options to have the food delivered to you on the day, or you can BYO food and make use of the six-burner, stainless steel barbecue on board. As Highland Spirit is not licensed to sell alcohol, all alcoholic beverages are BYO.  We will be happy to provide you with contacts for bottle shops that will deliver your drinks cold directly to the boat prior to your charter. We will also be more than happy to assist with loading the boat on the day with all of your provisions including the use of a trolley.  We have two large eskis for cold storage of your drinks as well as a fridge/freezer for your more delicate food. 
Can I Have My Buck's or Hen's Party on the Highland Spirit?

Yes, you can! A buck’s or hen’s party on the Highland Spirit is an excellent way to celebrate your forthcoming nuptials. At night, the deck is lit by the latest in coloured LED dance lighting and our premium sound system will create just the right ambience. The Highland Spirit has a large swimming platform so you can cool off in the Indian Ocean. You can bring your own drinks and we have ample cold storage and a fantastic barbecue. We can pick you up and drop you off at Barrack Street in the city centre so you can carry on partying the night away after your cruise. Is the Highland Spirit Suitable for Corporate Events?
Absolutely yes! Since we can accommodate up to 48 passengers, a cruise on the Highland Spirit is an excellent location for a corporate event. The ultimate charter vessel, the Highland Spirit is fully equipped with the latest technology for a smooth and relaxing cruise. Your guests can relax onboard our spacious deck while enjoying the view and sipping a drink in the shade of our large canopy.
What Music Do You Have?
Music can be played through the boat’s stereo via aux cord or bluetooth, so don’t forget your phone!  You can also go a step further and hire a DJ for your charter.
Where Do I Go to Embark on the Highland Spirit?

We are based at Fishing Boat Harbour, Fremantle WA and all Perth fishing charters depart from Sardine Jetty Fremantle.


For River Cruises we can service most jetties on the Swan River, however the more common options are Barrack St Jetty, Perth, East St Jetty, East Fremantle and Sardine Jetty, Fremantle.

What Type of Fish Do You Target on the Perth Fishing Charters?
We like to target the nicer eating fish like Dhufish, Baldchin Groper, Red Snapper, Pink Snapper, Breaksea Cod, King George Whiting plus many other species, so that you have a great catch to take home at the end of the day. 
What Depths Do You Fish At on the Perth Fishing Charters?
Where we fish depends a lot on the weather on the day. But generally we fish in anywhere from 30-120 metres of water. 
What Food and Drink is Provided on the Perth Fishing Charters?
Tea/coffee and biscuits, water/soft drinks and lunch are all included in the cost of your charter.
Are There Any Times When Highland Spirit Isn’t Available for Charter?
There is a fishing ban from 15th October to 15th December each year in Perth coastal waters when we aren’t allowed to do our fishing charters. 

This may not happen in 2021/2022 -The boat used to be up at Geraldton from the months of April to July each year for our Abrolhos Islands Fishing season. Please give us a call to find out availability of our 3, 4  and 5-day live-aboard fishing charters in the Abrolhos Islands.
Is Fishing Gear Provided on the Fishing Charters?
Yes, quality Shimano gear (both spin and overhead) all spooled with braid and all tackle is provided but feel free to bring your favourite rod and reel.
